Diamonds Bright

My child he sees the stars and thinks that they are all diamonds bright
He lives in a dream but it's alright
And when he's asleep he has a smile that stays with him through the night
He lives in a dream but it's alright

And when he's awake I'll love him
And no-one will keep us apart
And when he's awake
Let the four winds blow
He'll never know
The winter chill.

The dream that I had when I was young that I would be free for life
Was only a dream but it's alright
The minute he smiled my life was changed and never the same again
It isn't a dream but it's alright.

And all of the tears I cried for him
Whenever he stumbled or fell
All of those tears
They have melted me
And made of me
What you now see.

A child takes your life and leaves you none to call your own;
Takes everything you have but nevermore you'll be alone.

My child he sees the stars and thinks that they are all diamonds bright
He lives in a dream but it's alright.

Of course this is about my son.

Nothing more to say.
